Rotary Interact Club
Instructor: Mrs. Gail Mullaney
The Rotary Interact Club is an international service organization for young people. Sponsored by our local Middlesex County Rotary Club, our young women join with more than 250,000 other Interactors around the world who carry out two major community service projects each year, including one that furthers international understanding and goodwill.(rotary.org) We meet monthly throughout the school year with some additional planning meetings. An 80% attendance is required to maintain membership status.

Our club also interfaces with the local Chamber of Commerce promoting the AMA sponsored ASK ME 3 program focusing on health literacy. Our students do community presentations encouraging the asking of three medical questions to maximize routine medical office visits... What is my main problem? What do I need to do? and Why is it important for me to do this?. (www.askme3.org).

First Meeting!
Our first meeting will be this coming Wednesday, Oct 20th, at 2:45 in Room 216.  We'll elect officers, give dates for volunteer opportunities (coming up very soon) and you can place your t-shirt order if you want.  See you there!   Mrs. Mullaney
All Interactors
This year, our meetings will be held the third Wednesday of each month in Room 216 right after school at 2:45.  Our first community project is this Saturday, 10-2 at St. Francis Church in Middletown where we'll be helping with the soup supper, auction and greeting guests.  You have to sign up to attend.  See Mrs. Mullaney in Room 216.
What is the the Rotary 4-Way Test?
At the end of each meeting we recite the Rotary 4-Way test.  Some of you who missed out last meeting may be curious about why we do this.

For Rotary, The Four-Way Test is the cornerstone of all action. It has been for years, and it will be in the future. Of the things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
This is a good thing to think about in ALL that we do, not just when we're in Rotary meetings.
